(Hourly - Casual) Research Associate, Dean's Department, Cumming School of Medicine

Position Overview

The Dean's Department in the Cumming School of Medicine is currently seeking a (Hourly) Temporary Casual Research Associate for approximately 2 months.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Operations, Dean’s Office, the research associate will complete an intensive project related to pricing and economics of research services, based on an established protocol.

This is a casual position with variable hours.  This hourly position working approximately 28 to 35 hours a week.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Conduct research and provide documentation for use in strategic planning
  • Will execute an established protocol to gather data related to the sustainability and pricing equity of research services
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments, provide consulting services to internal and external stakeholders, produce technical documents for publication, and lead project plans from conception to completion
  • Establishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with staff, peers, immediate supervisor and senior management and with the campus community

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Masters Degree – in basics sciences or health

  • Some exposure to pricing and economics is an asset

  • Min 10 years of technical experience and completion of post-secondary education in related discipline

  • Perform detailed design, documentation, and implementation of moderately complex technological systems

  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders

  • Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments

  • Strong understanding of grant proposal, review, approval and budget management processes

  • Demonstrated communication, organization, innovation, and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced or expert skills in MS Office Suite, Internet

  • Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable

  • A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of the team
